Plot

Beatrice is a blabbermouth and a so-called billionaire countess who likes to believe she’s in intimacy with world leaders. Donatella is a young quiet tattooed woman, locked in her own mystery. They are both patients of a mental institution and subject to custodial measures.

Paolo Virzì’s new film tells the story of their unpredictable friendship and their escape from the treatment constraints that will become an hilarious and moving adventure of two technically insane creatures, looking for a bit of fun and love in this open-air nuthouse, the world of healthy people.

Raised in Leghorn, Paolo Virzì made his debut in 1994, with La bella vita, awarded with a David for the “Best Debut Director”, where he displayed his exceptional skills in directing actors and dealing with dramatic themes with an ironic and light tone. During his successful career spanning over 25 years Virzì won numerous awards for his intense and entertaining films: in 2014 Il capitale umano, based on a novel by Stephen Amidon, obtained a record 19 David nominations. La pazza gioia was recently awarded Best Film and Best Director David Prizes. He has already started working on The Leisure Seekers, shot entirely in the USA, and starring Donald Sutherland and Helen Mirren.

Trama

Beatrice Morandini Valdirana è una chiacchierona istrionica, sedicente contessa e a suo dire in intimità coi potenti della Terra. Donatella Morelli è una giovane donna tatuata, fragile e silenziosa, che custodisce un doloroso segreto. Sono tutte e due ospiti di una comunità terapeutica per donne con disturbi mentali, entrambe classificate come socialmente pericolose. Il film racconta la loro imprevedibile amicizia, che porterà ad una fuga strampalata e toccante, alla ricerca di un po’ di felicità in quel manicomio a cielo aperto che è il mondo dei sani.

RÉSUMÉ

Béatrice Morandini Valdirana est une comtesse dite milliardaire, très bavarde et théâtrale, qui aime croire qu’elle est intime avec les leaders mondiaux. Donatella Morelli est une jeune femme tatouée, fragile et silencieuse, qui garde un douloureux secret. Béatrice et Donatella habitent dans une communauté thérapeutique pour femmes avec des défis émotionnels. Elles sont toutes les deux considérées socialement dangereuses. Le film raconte l’histoire de leur amitié inattendue qui conduira à une évasion et à une aventure farfelue et touchante. Béatrice et Donatella sont à la recherche d’un peu de bonheur dans cette maison de fous qui est le monde des personnes (supposément) saines.

Paolo Virzì vient de Livorno. En 1994, il réalise son premier film « La Bella Vita » et remporte un Prix David en tant que « Meilleur Nouveau Réalisateur ». Ce film démontre ses compétences exceptionnelles à diriger les acteurs et à traiter des thèmes dramatiques avec un ton ironique et léger. Plot

It tells the World War II era story of a cynical, successful businessman named Domenico, who – after meeting a naive country girl, Filumena Marturano – one night in a Neapolitan brothel – keeps frequenting her for years in an on-off relationship, as she continues work-ing as a prostitute. He eventually takes her in his house as a semi-official mistress under the pretense that she take care of his ailing, senile mother.

Trama

Domenico Soriano, ricco pasticcere e impenitente donnaiolo napoletano, è legato all’ex prostituta Filumena Marturano da una relazione più che ventennale. Conosciutala al tempo della seconda guerra mondiale e dopo averla tolta dalla casa di tolleranza in cui era, dapprima l’aveva sistemata in un appartamento di sua proprietà e poi l’aveva accolta in casa sua e della sua anziana madre come amante-convivente nonché governante.

Plot

Noelle Elia is a multi-media artist who takes us on a voyage of discovery. She tells the story of Franco Grosso and Mariano Elia, two immigrants who left southern Italy for a new life in Canada. Franco stayed close to his Italian roots and was known as the ‘original popcorn man’. Mariano arrived as a 12 year-old boy who spoke no English but went on to become one of Canada’s top builders and a philanthropist. These two men never met, but they had Noelle in common – she is Mariano’s grand-daughter, and Franco’s friend. In this film, through her memories and a voyage back to Italy, she creates a portrait of Canada’s changing face of diversity.

Sinossi

Noelle Elia è un’artista multimediale che intraprende un viaggio. Ci racconta la storia di Franco Grosso e Mariano Elia, due immigrati italiani giunti in Canada alla ricerca di un futuro migliore. Franco resta vicino alle sue origini italiane, conosciuto da tutti come ‘l’originale uomo dei popcorn’. Mariano arriva in Canada all’età di 12 anni, non parla l’inglese ma lavora duro e con il tempo diventa uno dei costruttori e filantropi più noti nel Paese. Questi due uomini non si incontrano, ma la nostra protagonista li accomuna, nipote di Mariano e amica di Franco. In questo film Noelle dipinge un ritratto della realtà canadese in costante cambiamento, attraverso i suoi ricordi e un viaggio che la riporta in Italia.

Plot

Lucia and Maria have known each other forever, two friends that are complete opposites. Trama

Lucia e Maria si conoscono da sempre. Due amiche che più diverse non si può.

RÉSUMÉ
