The series Italy Inspires Canada will commence with Capitan Samantha Cristoforetti, first Italian female astronaut, first Italian female of the European Space Agency team, European astronaut and woman who has spent the most time in space in a single voyage (200 days) during the Futura mission. Samantha Cristoforetti will present the noteworthy aspects of her mission in space on the International Space Station and will talk with Canadian astronaut Roberta Bondar (first Canadian female astronaut) and with Prof. Bryan Gaensler, Director of the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics of Toronto. It was decided to begin this series by speaking of space, a place that sparks curiosity in all of us and a frontier of science and innovation, and hearing a firsthand account by the first Italian female astronaut on an extraordinary scientific and human experience.
