With a career spanning over 40 years, globally revered architect Massimiliano Fuksas has stacked his portfolio with more than 600 international projects that typify his unique and innovative vision.

Since founding his studio with his wife, Doriana Mandrelli Fuksas, over three decades ago, Studio Fuksas has become one of the most recognized architecture firms in the world. Based in Rome, the duo also has headquarters in Paris and Shenzhen, China, and their award-winning work can be found across Europe, Africa, America, Asia and Australia. The scale of their projects range in size and scope, and include museums, cultural centres, airports and urban interventions.

The series Italy Inspires Canada will commence with Capitan Samantha Cristoforetti, first Italian female astronaut, first Italian female of the European Space Agency team, European astronaut and woman who has spent the most time in space in a single voyage (200 days) during the Futura mission. Samantha Cristoforetti will present the noteworthy aspects of her mission in space on the International Space Station and will talk with Canadian astronaut Roberta Bondar (first Canadian female astronaut) and with Prof. Bryan Gaensler, Director of the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics of Toronto. It was decided to begin this series by speaking of space, a place that sparks curiosity in all of us and a frontier of science and innovation, and hearing a firsthand account by the first Italian female astronaut on an extraordinary scientific and human experience.

Si tratta di un’occasione imperdibile per avvicinare o approfondire la grande arte del sommo poeta italiano, Dante Alighieri, con letture interpretate in italiano da attori professionisti provenienti dall’Italia e in inglese da prestigiosi attori canadesi. Le letture saranno accompagnate dall’esecuzione di brani di musiche ispirate alla Divina Commedia con musicisti del più elevato livello internazionale, dall’Italia il gruppo Benedetto Marcello e dal Canada i Tafel Music. Ci sarà inoltre una prima mondiale di un compositore italo-canadese, Ennio Paolo. È un avvenimento davvero da non perdere per introdurre i vostri figli o nipoti alle tematiche e sonorità della Divina Commedia, una delle vette più elevate della poesia italiana e fondativa della letteratura mondiale. Oppure potrete essere voi a lasciarvi cullare per un intero pomeriggio dalla dolcezza del canto lirico italiano nelle parole e rime del suo altissimo poeta
