Plot

The owners of an Italian textile factory sell the majority of their shares to a corporation. There is a small clause in the agreement that the new ownership wants the Factory Council to sign. Eleven women will decide for themselves, and as representatives of their colleagues, whether to accept the proposal or not. Little by little, the debate becomes heated and their stories, hopes, and memories come out. A kaleidoscope of pulsating lives, so different from each other – lives of women, mothers, and daughters.

His first success came with the role of soldier Paolo Passeri in Marcia trionfale (1976, directed by Bellocchio), for which he won a David di Donatello. Two years later he won the Silver Bear for Best Actor award at the 29th Berlin International Film Festival for his role of the homosexual worker in ironical melodrama Ernesto

I proprietari di un’azienda tessile italiana cedono la maggioranza della proprietà a una multinazionale. Sembra che non siano previsti licenziamenti, operaie e impie-gate possono tirare un sospiro di sollievo. Ma c’è una piccola clausola nell’accordo che la nuova proprietà vuole far firmare al Consiglio di fabbrica. Undici donne dov-ranno decidere per sé e in rappresentanza di tutta la fabbrica, se accettare la richi-esta dell’azienda. A poco a poco il dibattito si accende, ad emergere prima del voto finale saranno le loro storie, fatte di speranza e ricordi. Un caleidoscopio di vite di-versissime e pulsanti, vite di donne, madri, figlie.

A livello internazionale è conosciuto per il ruolo del commissario di Polizia Corrado Cattani, interpretato nelle prime quattro stagioni della celebre serie televisiva La piovra. Ha vinto l’Orso d’argento per il miglior attore al Festival di Berlino per Ernesto di Salvatore Samperi e 4 Da-vid di Donatello.
