The Company:
A highly successful privately held e-commerce , Fashion company in business for over 25 years in Toronto, is looking for someone to step into our Junior Accountant position.
The Position:
We need an Accountant to prepare and draft financial statements, assist the external Accountant in day to day accounting duties, coordinate payment and monitor tax assessments, and maintain tax and working files. This is a full-time employee position, reporting directly to the Controller.
The Candidate:
The candidate we are seeking is someone with the following skills and background:
- Fashion Industry
- Demonstrated experience in a demanding, rapid-paced environment Broad Accounting background Flexible and willing to learn Team player Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges
Responsibilities:
- Month end closing tasks;
- Creation and posting of journal entries; Account Reconciliation; Multiple Currency Cash-flow monitoring; Bank Reconciliation; Attend to queries from customers via phone and email Special projects as required;
Candidate Requirements:
- 3 Years of general Accounting experience Strong analytical and reconciliations skills Ability to work independently with little supervision Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills Manage tight deadlines Solid understanding of Accounting principles
Candidate Desirable:
- A post-secondary degree, diploma, or equivalent professional experience in Accounting
- Effective oral and written communication skills Microsoft – Visual
