Celebrating CANADA 150 – PIRANDELLO150
Luigi Pirandello, playwright of great fame, entertained his audiences with wit and humour. The three one-act plays bring themes of love, desire, compassion, and a transparent clash of ideological differences between family and friends of today’s society. With the many characters that dwell in the fantasy of the playwright; such as MICUCCIO BONAVINO, a nervous country peasant infatuated with SINA MARNIS who is a renowned singer, or the IETTATORE who, in a court of law, demands a license to cast the Evil-Eye on those who wish him ill-fate, or LUCA who turns the table on the definition of ‘imbecile’, Pirandello delivers a lesson of tolerance as to how one should deal with the less desirable people in our midst
