Plot
Francis, the Latin American Pope, visited Cuba in September 2015 on a four-day trip across the island, from Havana to Santiago before leaving for the United States.
A deeply meaningful decision on his part, to help mediate and restore some of the stability of an unbalanced world. Cubans welcomed Jorge Mario Bergoglio, an Argentinian Pope of Piedmontese origins. We documented this astounding chapter of Cuban history, as President Obama also came to speak to the Castros about lifting the embargo. A spectacular journey, the likes of which have not been seen in recent history.
We aimed to document the moral integrity of a Pope who, in September 2013, gathered two-hundred thousand people in Saint Peter’s Square and called for the rejection of war, poverty and inequality.
