Italy in a Day

Italy in a Day is a Riley Scott idea brought to life by Gabriele Salvatores in an elegant and creative way. Italians from all over Italy were asked to record and send in videos or images via smartphone, cameras, video cameras etc. Their mission was to record a 24 hour day on October 26th, 2013. Wishes, dreams fears, reflections, and views from balcony windows were submitted because this film is a collection of ideas that each individual submitter found interesting to them. For Italians, this became an emotional diary of fragile moments, of happy moments and moments of distress. It can be called a “Social Movie” in the perspective of the everyday person, with a true sense of passion and respect for the simple everyday life.

Italy in a Day è l’edizione italiana, curata da Gabriele Salvatores, di un progetto di Ridley Scott. Agli italiani è stato chiesto di inviare dei video amatoriali realizzati con telecamere, smart phones, fotocamere etc., da girare durante le 24 ore del 26 ottobre 2013. Desideri, sogni, paure, riflessioni. Tutto l’accaduto di una giornata di vita qualunque. Italy in a Day è un diario emotivo, una confessionie laica, la voglia di condividere i propri sentimenti attraverso le immagini, uno psicodramma italiano collettivo, di volta in volta tenero, grintoso, divertente o disperato. Un ‘social movie’ realizzato con passione, un mosaico di punti di vista sulla realtà

Italy in a day est un projet réalisé par Gabriele Salvatores à partir d’une idée de Ridley Scott. Des Italiens ont été invités à enregistrer et envoyer des vidéos ou des images prises avec des smartphones, des appareils photo ou des caméras pour raconter une journée précise dans leur vie: celle du 26 octobre 2013. Souhaits, rêves, craintes, réflexions ont été recueillis pour partager tout événement important pour ces personnes. Ainsi, ce film est devenu un journal intime qui a permis à des gens ordinaires d’exprimer leurs émotions et de parler de leurs moments à la fois fragiles, heureux ou de détresse. Réalisé avec passion et respect, Italy in a day peut être considéré un véritable “film social”.
