The ICFF is ecstatic to see the Italian flair woven into the 2017 edition of the Toronto International Film Festival, running from September 7th – September 17th in various theatres throughout the city.
TIFF has a substantial line-up of Italian content in its film selection this year, with a strong presence featuring 10 films and 3 shorts – all spectacular works and all a definite must-see.

TORONTO — TIFF and the Italian Contemporary Film Festival (ICFF) announced today their joint summer programme Roberto Benigni & Nicoletta Braschi: A Beautiful Life, a film retrospective that celebrates the multi-talented Italian couple. Running from June 4 until June 9, it features several in-person events including an onstage conversation about their lives and creative collaboration; joint introductions and Q&A sessions for a selection of the acclaimed films they have made together, including the Academy Award-winning Life is Beautiful (1997) as well as Jim Jarmusch’s “neo-Beat-noir-comedy” Down by Law (1986), and a free, daytime screening of the hilarious mistaken-identity farce Johnny Stecchino (1991) for post-secondary students and faculty.

L’ICFF, il Festival del cinema italiano contemporaneo, invita registi e registe a partecipare alla quarta edizione del Festival, che si terrà a Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Vaughan e Hamilton, dall’11 al 19 giugno, con lungometraggi, cortometraggi e documentari.
Le opere, realizzate a partire da dicembre 2013, dovranno pervenire entro il 31 marzo 2015. Ad aprile, la direzione artistica annuncerà i film selezionati. I lungometraggi e i documentari dovranno avere una durata minima di 60 minuti, mentre i corti in gara non potranno superare i 10 minuti.

“L’ ICFF è una variegata collezione di ‘voci’ nuove tutte legate alla cultura italiana” ha detto il Direttore Artistico Cristiano de Florentiis. “I film e gli eventi di quest’anno hanno un particolare approccio creativo e multiculturale nell’affrontare questioni contemporanee. Siamo inoltre estremamente contenti di accendere i riflettori su alcuni cortometraggi di registi italo-canadesi”.

12 maggio 2015, TORONTO – Cinque i premi per l’edizione ICFF 2015: il Premio ICFF del Pubblico – il vincitore riceverà una statuetta creata dal rinomato artista Silvio Mastrodascio -, il Presenting Sponsor per il film che avrà dato il maggior contributo ai valori sociali e culturali italiani, il Premio per il miglior cortometraggio con un assegno del valore di $1,000 CAD, il Premio della Toronto Film Critics Association ed infine il Premio alla Carriera istituito per il riconoscimento di quegli artisti che si sono distinti per il loro notevole contributo al cinema italiano nel mondo.

The Invisible Boy (Il ragazzo invisible) per la regia di Gabriele Salvatores – Il regista premio Oscar racconta la storia di Michele, un ragazzo di 13 anni che vive in una tranquilla cittadina di mare. Non un ragazzo popolare a scuola, né uno studente brillante. Tuttavia un giorno la monotonia della sua vita normale è sconvolta da una scoperta straordinaria: Michele si guarda allo specchio e scopre che è invisibile.

27 aprile 2015, TORONTO – Midnight Sun (Il Mio Amico Nanuk), un film di avventura per famiglie ambientato nelle terre di ghiaccio del Canada settentrionale, fa il suo debutto canadese al Festival del Cinema Italiano Contemporaneo (ICFF) giovedì 21 maggio 2015. Protagonista del film, diretto da Brando Quilici e prodotto da Medusa – in una produzione italo canadese – l’attore originario di Toronto Dakota Goyo che interpreta Luca, un ragazzo di 14 anni che si imbarca in un viaggio di sopravvivenza e di amicizia con un compagno singolare.

L’ICFF (Festival du film italien contemporain), invite les réalisateurs et réalisatrices à participer à la quatrième édition du Festival (Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Vaughan et Hamilton, 11-19 juin 2015) en présentant des longs-métrages, des courts-métrages et des documentaires.
