Don’t Be Bad (Non essere cattivo)

Plot

A story set in the ‘90s in the Roman suburbs and in Ostia, where Pasolini gave life to his
characters in all their suffering, loving and wandering. In a more recent context, we are transported to the ‘90s where life is more desperate and revolves around hedonism. It is a world flooded with money, powerful cars, nightclubs, drugs and cocaine. Victor and Cesare, in their early twenties, are on the prowl.

Initiation into this lifestyle has a very high cost and Vittorio, to save himself, distances himself from Caesar, sinking inexorably. The bond that unites them is so strong that Vittorio really never abandons his friend, always hoping to be able to look to the future with new eyes. Together.

Trama

1995, Ostia. Vittorio e Cesare hanno poco più di vent’anni e non sono solo amici da sempre: sono “fratelli di vita”. Sono figli della borgata romana sottoproletaria, con una vita di eccessi: notti in discoteca, corse in auto, alcool, droghe sintetiche e spaccio di cocaina. Vivono in simbiosi ma hanno anime diverse, entrambi alla ricerca di una loro affermazione.

L’iniziazione all’esistenza per loro ha un costo altissimo e Vittorio col tempo inizia a desiderare una vita diversa: incontra Linda e per salvarsi prende le distanze da Cesare, che invece sprofonda inesorabilmente. Vittorio non abbandonerà mai veramente il suo amico Cesare, in virtù del legame fortissimo che li unisce e nella speranza di poter guardare al futuro con occhi nuovi. Insieme.

Une histoire qui se déroule dans les années 90 dans les banlieues romaines et à Ostia, où Pasolini a donné vie à ses personnages dans toute leur souffrance, l’amour et l’errance. Dans un contexte plus contemporain, nous sommes transportés dans les années 90, où la vie est plus désespérée et tourne autour de l’hédonisme. Il est un monde inondé de l’argent, des voitures puissantes, des discothèques, des médicaments et de la cocaïne. Victor et Cesare, au début de la vingtaine, sont à l’affût.

Initiation à ce mode de vie a un coût très élevé et Vittorio, pour se sauver, se distancie de César, coulé inexorablement. Le lien qui les unit est si fort que Vittorio ne jamais abandonne vraiment son ami, espérant toujours de regarder vers l’avenir avec des yeux nouveaux. Ensemble.
