Plot
The film begins in the halls of a grand hotel in Paris, where Fausto and Nadine meet for the first time. Fausto is from Italy, but works in France as a waiter, though he dreams to succeed and become a maître d’. Nadine is a beautiful young French girl, who is there to appear in modelling auditions, even against her will. When the two meet, they are fragile, single and obsessed with a seemingly-unreachable idea of happiness. They fall in love and begin a great journey ridden with obstacles, from shady friendships to prison. Despite their fate and their unique way of loving each other, they will suffer and strive all the same, to remain together, against all odds…

Claudio Cupellini is an Italian director and screenwriter. His debut was in 1999 with the short film Le diable au vile. In 2010, his film Una vita tranquilla won the Silver Marc’Aurelio Jury Award for Best Actor for Toni Servillo at the International Film Festival of Rome. In 2014, together with Stefano Sollima and Francesca Comencini, he produced the very successful television series, Gomorrah.
Trama
Il film comincia nei saloni di un grande albergo di Parigi, dove Fausto e Nadine si incontrano per la prima volta. Fausto viene dall’Italia ma lavora in Francia come un cameriere e vive con il sogno di riuscire a diventare maître. Nadine, una bellissima giovane francese, sta per presentarsi ad un provino per modelle, anche se non ha la voglia. Quando loro si incontrano sono fragili, soli, e ossessionati da un’idea di felicità che sembra irraggiungibile. Dopo essersi conosciuti si ameranno e cominceranno un grande percorso che avrà non pochi ostacoli tra prigione e amicizie poco raccomandabili. Nonostante il destino ed il loro singolare modo di amarsi, soffriranno e cercheranno comunque di rimanere insieme, contro tutto…

Claudio Cupellini è un regista e sceneggiatore italiano. Ha esordito nel 1999 col cortometraggio Le diable au volo. Nel 2010 il suo film Una vita tranquilla aggiudicato Premio Marc’Aurelio d’Argento della Giuria al migliore attore per Toni Servillo al Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma. Nel 2014 insieme con Stefano Sollima e Francesca Comencini, ha realizzato la serie televisiva di grande successo: Gomorra – La serie.
Résumé
