Plot
Enrico Giusti (Valerio Mastrandrea) works with incompetent individuals who run the risk of ruining the businesses they manage. He spends time with them, befriends them, and ultimately convinces them to quit, thus forestalling the failure of the businesses and the loss of thousands of jobs. It’s the strangest and yet most useful job he can perform, which he does flawlessly. One morning a car plunges into a lake and changes everything. Filippo and Camilla, two siblings aged 18 and 13, become orphans when their entrepreneur parents lose their lives. Enrico is tasked with preventing their takeover of a national corporation. On paper, the case is easy, the successful crowning of a career. Yet everything is complicated, and the arrival of his brother’s foreign girlfriend only makes things worse.

After studying philosophy at the University of Bologna, Zanasi enrolled in a theatre writing school and a film course taught by Nanni Moretti. He attended the Experimental Film Center in Rome, where in 1992 he graduated in directing. He made his directorial debut with the short film The beautiful evidence, which won a prize at the Turin Film Festival.
Trama
Enrico Giusti (Valerio Mastandrea) conosce per lavoro dei dirigenti totalmente incompetenti e irresponsabili che rischiano ogni volta di mandare in rovina le imprese che gestiscono. Lui li frequenta, diventa amico e infine li convince ad andarsene, evitando così il fallimento delle aziende e la conseguente perdita di migliaia di posti di lavoro. È il lavoro più strano e utile che potesse inventarsi e non sbaglia mai un colpo. Ma una mattina un’auto cade in un lago e tutto cambia. Filippo e Camilla, due fratelli di 18 e 13 anni, rimangono orfani di un’importante coppia di imprenditori. Enrico viene incaricato di impedire che i due adolescenti possano diventare i dirigenti di un gruppo industriale d’importanza nazionale. Dovrebbe essere il caso più facile, il coronamento di una carriera, ma tutto si complica e l’arrivo inatteso della fidanzata straniera di suo fratello rende le cose ancora più difficili.

Gianni Zanasi
Zanasi, dopo aver studiato filosofia all’università di Bologna, si è iscritto a corsi per scrittori e ad un corso di cinema insegnato da Nanni Moretti. Ha frequentato il Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia a Roma, dove nel 1992 si è laureato in regia. Il suo debutto alla regia è con il cortometraggio Le belle prove, che ha vinto un premio al Film Festival di Torino.

Enrico Giusti (Valerio Mastandrea) connaît des individus incompétents et irresponsables totaux qui risquent de ruiner les entreprises qu’il gère. Il passe du temps avec eux, se lie d’amitié et les convainc finalement de quitter et éviter l’échec des entreprises et la perte constante de milliers d’emplois. Mais un matin, une voiture tombe dans un lac et tout change. Filippo et Camilla, frère et soeur de 18 ans et 13 ans, restent orphelins d’un couple important entrepreneurs. Enrico est appelé avec la tâche d’empêcher que ces deux adolescents peuvent devenir les dirigeants d’un groupe industriel d’importance nationale. Il devrait être le cas le plus simple, la réussite d’une carrière, mais tout se complique avec l’arrivée inattendue de la petite amie étrangère de son frère qui rend les choses encore plus difficiles.

Gianni Zanasi
Zanasi, après avoir étudié la philosophie à l’Université de Bologne, inscrit dans une école d’écriture théâtrale et un cours de film enseigné par Nanni Moretti. Il a assisté au Centre Expérimental de Cinématographie de Rome, où en 1992, il est diplômé en dirigeant.
