Plot
Blanka (Cydel Gabutaero) makes her living on the streets of Manila from small thefts and tricks. She dreams of saving enough money to “buy” a mom. When she meets talented Peter (Peter Millari), a 55 years old blind gambling musician, her life takes an unexpected direction and an opportunity arises as he teaches her how to sing, a skill out of which she can make money as she finds out she is very talented. However, concerned about Blanka’s future, Peter decides to take Blanka to an orphanage. When she finds out, she runs away and the nightmare starts again. Thanks to Peter, Blanka will understands that money cannot buy anyone’s love.

Kohki Hasei
In 1994 after finishing high school in Okayama, Hasei moved to Tokyo where he started working in the art world. In 2001 he directed his first documentary: W/O. The film was screened at The Seoul Net Festival in Corea where it was awarded with the Digital Express Prize. In 2007, Hasei directed his second film, Godog which was warded the First Prize at the Kustendolf Film Festival in Serbia.

Trama
Blanka (Cydel Gabutaero) fa la sua vita per le strade di Manila da piccoli furti e trucchi. Sogna di salvare abbastanza soldi per “comprare” una mamma. Quando incontra talento Peter (Peter Millari), una di 55 anni il gioco d’azzardo cieco musicista, la sua vita prende una direzione inaspettata e un’opportunità si pone come lui le insegna a cantare, una competenza di cui può fare i soldi come lei scopre di è molto talento. Tuttavia, preoccupato per il futuro di Blanka, Peter decide di prendere Blanka a un orfanotrofio. Quando scopre, lei scappa e l’incubo ricomincia. Grazie a Peter, Blanka sarà capisce che il denaro non può comprare l’amore di nessuno.

Nel 1994 dopo aver completato la scuola superiore ad Okayama, Hasei si trasferisce a Tokyo dove inizia la sua carriera artistica. Nel 2001 dirige il suo primo documentario W/O. Il film viene proiettato al Net festival di Seul in Corea, dove riceve il premio Digital Express. Nel 2007 dirige il suo secondo film, Godog, con cui vince il primo premio al festival di Kustendolf in Serbia.

Si Blanka (Cydel Gabutaero) ay naghahanap buhay sa kalsada ng Maynila sa pamamagitan ng pagnakakaw at panloloko. Pangarap nyang makapag-ipon ng sapat na pera para “bumili” ng isang ina. Simula noong nakilala niya ang mahusay na si Peter (Peter Millari), isang bulag na musikero at sugarol na limampu’t limang taong gulang, ang landas na kanyang tinatahak ay napunta sa hindi inaasahang direksyon at may oportunidad na dumadating habang tinuturuan niya itong kumanta, isang talento na kung saan maaari siya makagawa ng pera nang nalaman niya na siya ay napakahusay. Gayunpaman, dahil sa pag-alala sa kinabukasan ni Blanka, si Peter ay nagpasiya na dalhin si Blanka sa bahay ampunan.
