The Film “Marital Aids” is her Directorial Debut Film. Liz speaks English, Polish, Italian, & some French. In her few short years in “Showbiz,” Liz has become an award-winning actor and producer. In 2016 Liz Incorporated ‘Wild-Maple Films,” and focuses on helping other Indie Filmmakers to secure worldwide distribution.

Light Study

Synopsis

Filmed entirely in single frames over a three year period, in 16mm, using pixelization and time-lapse photography, Light Study explores the ecosystems along the Bruce Trail of the Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Infused with a proliferation of lakes, wetlands, waterfalls, and wildlife, Light Study instills an appreciation for nature. Here, nature presides over an ephemeral human element, its primordial essence both medium and agent of light’s eternal change.

Josephine Massarella is an Italian-born independent filmmaker based in Hamilton. Her award-winning shorts have screened internationally in festivals and galleries. Her films include No End; Light Study; Night Stream; Green Dream; Interference; No5 Reversal; and One Woman Waiting. She has a Master of Arts – Integrated Studies in Cultural Studies from Athabasca University, a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Film and Television from Sheridan College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Film from the University of British Columbia. Josephine also teaches introductory screenwriting and cinema studies.

Still Fridays

Synopsis

“Still Fridays” is a short documentary about Vincenzo Pietropaolo’s photography of Good Friday ritual in Toronto’s Little Italy over 46 years. The Good Friday procession is a combination of biblical reenactments with live actors, which depicts stations of the cross. The integration of still and moving imagery would represent the way of sorrows and moments between people in this film.

His academic background includes a master’s degree in film production from York university, MFA in Documentary Media from Ryerson University and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (industrial production) as well as the successful completion of three film and television training programs in both Iran and Canada. His focus at Iranian film schools was Film Directing and Screenwriting. While at Sheridan College (Advanced Television and Film Program) determined to further expand his knowledge of the craft, he focused on Documentary and Cinematography.

Synopsis

“Batter Judgment” is a modern fairy tale with horror elements. It tells the story of teenager Julia, who is crazy for pancakes, her favorite snack. One day her best friend Danny tells her an urban legend about her neighbor: the woman eats kids when she gets mad. Julia laughs this story off and when she and Danny go next door to borrow an egg, the woman is very pleasant. She and the neighbor strike a deal that she will pay her back for the egg in pancakes. However, Julia’s greed gets the best of her and she eats all the pancakes she makes…

Gaetano Giordano (Caserta 1985) is an independent Italian filmmaker. It can certainly be considered as multifaceted artist. His interests and passions range from music to writing, from cinema to photography. From his childhood until the end of his college studies, Gaetano approaches these arts as autodidact, spending his free time doing shorts and cartoons both in 3D and in stop motion.

Pervaso da laghi, acquitrini, cascate e fauna selvatica, Light Study infonde nello spettatore un profondo rispetto per la Natura. Still Fridays è un breve documentario sulle fotografie scattate da Vincenzo Pietropaolo in occasione del rito della processione del Venerdì Santo che ha luogo nella Little Italy di Toronto da 46 anni. La processione del Venerdì Santo è composta da una serie di azioni, che rievocano le stazioni della Croce, recitate da attori dal vivo e basate sul racconto del Vangelo. L’integrazione di immagini in movimento e fotografie visibile nel film rappresenta un percorso di dolore e numerosi momenti di interazione tra persone.

Batter Judgement

Sinossi

“Batter Judgment” è una favola moderna intessuta di elementi horror. È la storia di un’adolescente, Julia, che va pazza per le frittelle, la sua merenda preferita. Un bel giorno il suo migliore amico Danny le racconta una leggenda urbana sulla sua vicina di casa: mangia i bambini quando si arrabbia. Julia se la ride, e quando si recano dalla donna per farsi prestare un uovo, la trovano gentile e sorridente. I ragazzi e la donna stringono un patto: le restituiranno delle frittelle in cambio dell’uovo. Ma Julia non riesce a vincere la sua gola, e mangia tutte le frittelle. Julia e Danny tornano dalla donna e cercano di imbrogliarla dandole una scatola di toast: la donna si arrabbia e cattura Julia. Danny, nascosto dietro un albero, vedendo la sua amica in pericolo, si precipita nella casa. Trova Julia, che riesce a fuggire, ma viene a sua volta catturato.

Gaetano Giordano (Caserta, 1985) è un regista indipendente italiano, e può essere considerate un artista polivalente. I suoi interessi e le sue passioni spaziano dalla musica alla scrittura, dal cinema alla fotografia. Dall’infanzia fino al completamento dei suoi studi, Gaetano si è avvicinato a queste forme d’arte come autodidatta, occupandosi di corti e animazione in 3D e stop motion nel tempo libero.
