Plot

On a small Mediterranean island called Porto Buio, a real life nativity scene is a traditional Christmas event. Unfortunately,this yearthe child who’s played baby Jesus for years has completely outgrown the role, and there’s no one to replace him –the island hasn’t celebrated a birth in years. With this fundamental tradition on the line, newly elected Mayor Cecco wants to ask theTunisian community that lives on the islandto “borrow”one of their children, but difficulties could arise as there’s conflict between the two communities. The mayor will call on old friends to aidhim in this challenging feat, although the likes of this nativity scene the island hasn’t seen in over 2000 years! A hilarious comedy about Italy today, focusing on a universal religion: happiness.

Trama

Una piccola isola del Mediterraneo e un presepe vivente da realizzare come ogni anno per celebrare il Natale. Purtroppo quest’anno il Gesù Bambino titolare è cresciuto: ha barba e brufoli da adolescente e nella culla non ci sta proprio. A Porto Buio però non nascono più bambini da un pezzo ma bisogna trovarne un altro a tutti i costi: la
tradizione del presepe è infatti l’unica “resistenza per non scomparire”. Il sindaco Cecco, fresco di nomina, vorrebbe chiederne uno in prestito ai tunisini che vivono sull’isola: peccato che fra le due comunità non corra buon sangue. Ad aiutarlo nell’impresa due

Napoletano, dopo la laurea in Lettere Moderne, si trasferisce a Milano, dove comincia il suo lavoro in pubblicità come copywriter (94-2001). Firma numerose campagne per prodotti industriali e per trasmissioni televisive. Nel 2001 il passaggio da copy a regista, realizzando insieme a Paolo Genovese i suoi lavori per la casa di produzione Filmmaster.
