Plot

Lucy has never kissed a boy, never had a job, and never really had friends. Her best friend is her mother Claire, who has shielded her from all the bad in the world, including Claire’s own terminal illness. Claire’s sister, Kerri, urges Claire to break her silence and tell Lucy the truth before it’s too late. Lucy leaps into adulthood and her Vespa to Cleveland for an ill-fated job interview. There, she stumbles into a bizarre and wonderful festival of the films of Federico Fellini, the great Italian director, where she sees his Oscar-winning La Strada: this movie doesn’t have the happy ending she’s used to. In a burst of courage, she leaves her small-town home to find the filmmaker and unlock his mysterious enigma and her own.

Taron Lexton is a South African writer, director, cinematographer and producer known for his unique visual aesthetic and the highly-emotional impact of his work. At age 19 he became the youngest person to graduate the Los Angeles Film School. His extensive career has earned him numerous awards from renowned festivals and international awards competitions. He recently completed directing and producing the original feature film In Search of Fellini and is in development on several other short films, features films and commercial projects.

Trama

Lucy non ha mai baciato un ragazzo, mai avuto un lavoro e nemmeno un vero amico. La sua migliore amica è sua madre Claire che ha sempre cercato di difenderla dalle ‘minacce’ del mondo esterno, inclusa la malattia con la quale combatte da tempo. La sorella di Claire, Kerri, cerca di convincerla a dire la verità alla figlia, prima che sia troppo tardi. Lucy decide di andare a Cleveland per un colloquio di lavoro, in questa città si imbatte in un festival cinematografico dedicato a Federico Fellini e ha l’occasione di vedere La Strada, film dal finale amaro, molto diverso da quelli a cui è abituata Lucy. La ragazza parte così per un viaggio alla ricerca del regista, dei suoi misteriosi enigmi e delle risposte che lei stessa si pone da tempo.

Taron Lexton è uno scrittore, regista e produttore cinematografico sud africano, conosciuto per la sua particolare visione estetica e l’alto livello di impatto emotivo dei suoi lavori. All’età di 19 anni è tra i più giovani diplomati alla Los Angeles Film School. Durante la sua lunga carriera ha vinto numerosi premi nell’ambito di rinomati festival. Ha recentemente completato il suo ultimo film In Search of Fellini ed è impegnato nella realizzazione di numerosi cortometraggi, film e progetti pubblicitari.
