Claudia Cardinale

Claudia Cardinale has been widely considered one of the most famous Italian movie stars of her generation, along with legends like Sofia Loren and Marcello Mastroianni. Beginning her career as a model, Cardinale’s stunning beauty, mesmerizing eyes and solid acting talent opened for her the doors to stardom.

Her film debut was in Mario Monicelli’s classic comedy I Soliti Ignoti (Big Deal on Madonna Street), and she later emerged as a major dramatic star as well, acting in Federico Fellini’s Oscar-winning masterpiece 8 1/2 and in Luchino Visconti’s epic film Il Gattopardo (The Leopard). Cardinale also starred in Visconti’s Rocco and His Brothers, Valerio Zurlini’s La Ragazza con la Valigia (Girl with a suitcase), Sergio Leone’s C’Era Una Volta Nel West (Once Upon a Time in the West), Werner Herzog’s Fitzcarraldo and Blake Edwards’ The Pink Panther.

A mother of two, Cardinale is also multilingual, being fluent in Italian, English, French and Spanish. Cardinale will receive the ICFF Lifetime Achievement Award and present her latest film, All Roads Lead to Rome
