One of the most talented and recognizable actors in the Italian film industry, Giancarlo Giannini has an incredible film career to show for, during which he played an array of diverse characters by which he easily made the transitions between these roles due to his extraordinary versatility, from blue collar to Mafia boss characters and from comedy to dramatic roles.
He became successful in his film career as a result of meeting director Lina Wertmuller and together with actress Mariangela Melato created one of the most hilarious Italian comedy couples. He also works with some of the biggest names for Italian directors, such as Luchino Visconti, Mario Monicelli and Dino Risi.
His roles in various 007 films gave him a renowned status, also on an international level. In addition to theatre, film and television, Giancarlo Giannini is also an excellent voice over actor.
