Renowned for such international hits as Johnny Stecchino, Life is Beautiful and The Tiger and the Snow, the first couple of Italian cinema joins us for a one hour onstage conversation about their lives, the creative process behind their films, and their memorable collaborations with Jim Jarmusch, to reflect on their careers spent performing, both on screen and on stage, becoming pioneers and innovators of the comedic genre. Highlighting some of their acclaimed works, including the Academy-Award winning Life Is Beautiful, the duo will explore their approach to performing in front of the camera, as well as recent returns back to their theatrical roots. The conversation will be followed by a twenty-minute Q&A session with the audience.

Roberto Benigni

Roberto Benigni was born in Castiglion Fiorentino in Arezzo Italy. An actor, director and screenwriter, he began his career in theatre upon moving to Rome in 1972. His famous theatre and film productions catapulted his career both on and off the stage. His passion for entertainment has been displayed on the big screen numerous times both as an actor and director. He has also appeared alongside actress and wife, Nicoletta Braschi.

Nicoletta Braschi

Nicoletta Braschi was born in Casena Italy and moved to Rome to pursue a career in theatre. A student of the Academy of Dramatic Arts Silvio D’Amico lead her to appeare in many theatre productions.  Her film career took off in 1983, which launched this talented actress into the spotlight. Along with appearing in films on her own, Braschi has also appeared alongside actor and director husband, Roberto Benigni.
